Naturopathic Doctor and Chiropractor
Dr. Jo Nell Shaw is an adventurous woman who loves hiking and spending time outdoors. Her experience of pregnancy and postpartum led her to create Shaw Family Practice as the place for mothers to get the care she wished she had. Her practice is built for motherhood and supports each woman as they raise families of their own. She has a deep passion to help women and children using the healing power of nature. Dr. Shaw uses naturopathic and chiropractic care to bridge the gap between traditional practices and modern healthcare while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Mothers who know they need to fill their cup, find that they belong here.
Colorado was her childhood home and where she returned to practice and raise a family with her husband after graduating the National University of Health Sciences. Dr. Shaw earned two doctorates the first was a Doctor of Chiropractic and the second a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. She also has completed advanced training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and is certified in Webster Technique and Certified from the Academy Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics CACCP.
Dr. Shaw is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, a chair member of the Pediatrics Council for the ACA, a member of the ICPA, Colorado Association of Naturopathic Doctors. She says, "Treating children has always been my gift, training from the ICPA has helped shape the care I give to children and pregnant women".
It was through her own health journey as a college student and personal trainer that she discovered how beneficial a chiropractic adjustment could be. After that pivotal experience, she was called to be a doctor and needed to share this knowledge with her community. Dr. Shaw continues to train and learn advanced techniques to care for the people around her. She is a speaker and active in local groups in Fort Collins, Colorado. As a mother to a rambunctious boy and wife of a physicist, life is never boring. Dr. Shaw finds ways to incorporate nature in all areas of her life and is happiest when hiking with her family.
